With so many sizes and fonts available for text, it can be tempting to use as many as possible.  But you'd be wise to remember the adage, "less is more."  To keep the text on your pages appealing as well as easy to read and understand, try the following tips:

• Use no more than 2 font face choices per page.
• Use font colors sparingly (it is a good idea to use less than 3 colors per page).
• Use universal font faces like Arial, Verdana, etc.
• While serif fonts (Georgia, Times New Roman) are typically easier to read in print, sans-serif fonts (Arial, Verdana, Tahoma) are typically easier to read on screen.
• Use font styles (bold, italic, caps) sparingly (the underline style should always be reserved for hyperlinks).
• Avoid mixing multiple font sizes.
• Use a text size that is easy to read (10 -12 pt is usually sufficient).
• Avoid using centered or justified alignment.
• Use font faces appropriate for viewing audience (i.e. Comic Sans for kids page).
• Avoid using blinking, fading, or moving text.
