User Names to Be Updated

On October 1, we began the process of updating user names for E-zekiel customers.  Your email address will replace your current user name.  To make that happen, the next time you log in, you will be asked to update your profile,  including adding your email address. Once your profile is updated, you will be able to log in using your email address and existing password.

We are moving toward this log-in method so that in the near future customers will be able to use the same log-in to access multiple E-zekiel-related websites.  This will simplify the log-in process and the management of user profiles.

We trust this minor inconvenience is worth the effort in the long term.

Day of Action Set for September 27

The United Nations' International Day of Peace, established in 1982, is observed every year on September 21 as a time for individuals, communities, nations and governments to highlight efforts to end conflict and promote peace. Take Several Breaks

Taking a break away from your computer display every hour or so can help reduce eye strain as well as other "comfort" issues that can develop with constant computer use.  Frequent short breaks are likely to be of better benefit than infrequent long breaks.  So take a moment to stand up and stretch – or simply to step away.  Need a reminder?  If you can't remember, set a timer.

Adding a Calendar to Your Site

A tool that comes with every E-zekiel package, the Events manager provides a way to schedule and promote your events, while removing them once they've gone by. Here's how to use it to add a calendar to your site. 

1. Open the Events manager to begin.
2. Set up the options on the Manager Settings tab if you have not previously done so.
3. Save and Exit to return to the main Events screen.
4. Click the Add New Event button to begin adding events to your calendar.
5. Enter the information for the event and click the Save button in the upper right corner.
6. Use the Event Schedule tab to setup a schedule pattern (even if  it is only a one day event) for the event in order for it to be  displayed on the calendar.
7. Save and Repeat steps 4-6 for additional events.

**Note - if you have the Groups manager, you can also use the  Personalization tab of each event to categorize your calendar by  groups/departments.

PowerPoint's Slide Master

Have you used PowerPoint's Slide Master?  A part of your design template, it's where you can set up formats (font, background colors, graphics and so forth) that will automatically apply to the rest of the slides in your presentation.  If you want to make a change to any of the formatted elements after the presentation is completed, you simply work through the Slide Master, and you're done.  To find it, click on View / Master / Slide Master.  Create whatever setting you'd like, and click Close Master View.

The Meaning of Wiki

You've probably heard of Wikipedia.  The online collaborative encyclopedia is one of the best-known examples of a "wiki," which is a collection of web pages that are created for the purpose of collaboration.  Basically, wikis are designed to allow anyone who accesses the site to contribute or modify content.  Wikis are commonly used to power community websites and, as in the case of Wikipedia, to create collaborative sites.  Businesses also use them in the creation of  intranets.
