Discover How Forms Can Be Used

Monday, February 12, 2007 View Comments Comments (0)
Web sites aren't just for telling your visitors all about your organization. They also offer many opportunities for you to find out a lot from your visitors. For instance, if you want to allow them to register for events, submit prayer requests, order products, complete surveys, or collect many other kinds of information, the tool that can help with "all of the above" is the tool that creates forms. "But what if I don't know how to create a form?" you ask. Well, like all E-zekiel tools, don't worry. It's easy. And it'll become even easier if you sign up for the E-zekiel web session scheduled for February 20.

Whenever you create a hyperlink in E-zekiel, it's automatically underlined. But that doesn't mean it has to stay that way. If you prefer not to have hyperlinks underlined, here's what you do:

1. Highlight the link
2. Click Insert/Edit Link
3. Click Advanced tab
4. In the "Style" box type the following: text-decoration:none

Professional photos can make your site look … well… professional. But that doesn’t mean you actually have to hire a photographer and set up the shot. Stock photos can be just right for your site, and they’re available for your perusing and choosing through many web-based sources. Visit www.e-zekiel.com and click on Web Resources, and you’ll find several great places to turn when you need photos, illustrations and other high-quality images.

E-zekiel Creates Streaming File Links Automatically

Tuesday, January 23, 2007 View Comments Comments (0)
If you’ve uploaded an MP3 file into your "My Files" area, you've probably noticed that it came with an M3U file. The automatic creation of streaming file links is one of many built-in features E-zekiel provides to make it easier to master your own web site.

The big difference between the two is that linking to an MP3 file causes it to download to the visitor's computer before playing while linking to an M3U file begins streaming the linked MP3. So, if you want the file to stream over the web instead of downloading to the viewer's computer, the M3U file is the option to choose.

E-zekiel Tip: How to Rearrange Your Site Menu

Tuesday, January 09, 2007 View Comments Comments (0)
You may have noticed that pages are automatically ordered alphabetically in your site menu. But did you know you can change that order at any time? All you have to do is add some basic HTML code before the page name. Here’s how:
  1. Open the page you want to reorder.
  2. In the Page Title textbox, place your cursor just before your page title.
  3. Type a “less than sign” (<), an exclamation point (!), two hyphens, then add a space, then a letter of the alphabet which corresponds to the order in which you want your pages to appear (i.e., a=1, b=2, c=3, etc.). Add another space, then two hyphens and wrap it up with a “greater than sign” (>).
When finished, before your page title you should have code that looks like this: <!-- a -->.
The code does not show on the page or the website, and the order only affects pages on the same hierarchical level. So, you can do this with each level of pages in your site without one level affecting the others.
