Adding Info with Your Media Files

Tuesday, December 15, 2009 View Comments Comments (0)
Sharing audio and video files on your Web site are great options for offering compelling messages – and yet with the natural limits (10 minutes for video, 30 minutes for audio), sometimes you’ve got more to tell. Fortunately, E-zekiel.tv gives you two options for providing more information with each media file.
If you’re using E-zekeil.com’s Media Manager, after you click the “Add Media” button, the page where you will select the audio or video file you want to upload will also display several other fields. One of these is called “Related File for Download.” Here’s where you can add documents or images that the visitor can download to go along with your video or audio message. Sermon notes are a great example, but you can also add instructions, diagrams or other types of content that will be useful to the visitor.
The next field, “Website,” gives each media file a unique link so that someone who views, say, a promotional video about a Christmas program can simply click that link to go to a page on your Web site that provides times, ticket information, parking instructions and anything else anyone needs to know.

Human Rights Day - Dec. 10

Thursday, December 10, 2009 View Comments Comments (0)
Human Rights Day 2009 is being held across the globe on December 10. This is a day set aside by the United Nations that dates back to 1950 and commemorates the December 10, 1948 adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. According to the U.N. Web site, the promotion and protection of human rights grew out of the founding nations' resolve that the horrors of The Second World War should never be allowed to recur. The theme this year is non-discrimination.

Reducing Video File Sizes

Tuesday, December 08, 2009 View Comments Comments (0)
If you’re creating and sharing videos on your Web site, you’ve seen that file size affects upload time. And some files really are too big to handle. With E-zekiel.tv, video uploads are limited to 100MB and ten minutes in length. Also keep in mind that E-zekiel.tv resamples video files to 320 pixels by 240 pixels, which means that uploading files with larger dimensions doesn’t improve quality, but does lengthen upload time.
There are various formats for video files, including AVI, QuickTime and MPEG. Whatever format you’re using, your video editor can be used to reduce the file size and optimize the dimensions before uploading. You can also trim or crop unneeded parts of your video for a shorter play time.

Adding Audio to Your Site

Did you know that E-zekiel.tv is not just a tool to upload and share videos, but that you can also upload audio?  The process is pretty much the same. If you’re using E-zekiel.com’s Media Manager, you click the “Add Media” button, select the audio file from your hard drive, fill in the other fields and click “upload” at the bottom. Audio files can be as long as 30 minutes in length.  A number of types of audio files can be uploaded, including:
AAC: Advanced Audio Coding (Macintosh)
AIFF: Audio Interchange File Format
AU: Sun Audio
OGA: Ogg Audio
MP2: MPEG Layer 2
MP3: MPEG Layer-1 Audio
WAV: Microsoft WAVE file
WMA: Windows Media Audio (Windows)

Choosing a Domain Name

Wednesday, November 04, 2009 View Comments Comments (0)
Choosing a domain name is one of those decisions that has far-reaching impact. Ideally, you will promote your domain name on all printed material as well as your advertising and marketing materials – even the sides of your ministry vehicles. So, how will you choose?
Domain names have to be typed, so keep yours short and easy to remember. While we all like “unique,” you wouldn’t want something so out of the ordinary that a person has to study the Web address character by character in order to type it into the browser.
Be aware that you’ll be giving this address over the phone, perhaps in radio commercials, and spelling counts – so beware of special characters that don’t translate well when you’re speaking them.
